Although the departure of the UK from Europe was formalised on 31st January, the agreement removes any uncertainty over the future of the CPES project. The UK Government has written to all programme managers stating that programmes will be able to continue as originally planned to the end of the current Programme. This also means that there should be no change for UK lead partners or the claims and payment processes.
CPES is entering a very exciting phase in which the pilot catchment areas are beginning to demonstrate real and positive results and we are impacting policy at a time when governments are recognising the real value of ecosystems. We are looking forward to sharing the outcomes from this landmark project over the next 18 months.
