One of the initial activities for the project was to complete a baseline assessment – a Geographic Scope Report. The purpose of the baseline assessment is to establish the geographic boundary and data that will inform the design of the toolbox of resources, implementation and subsequent evaluation of the PES schemes. A common approach will be adopted by all 6 catchment area partnerships and baseline assessments will be made for each case area assessing; catchment characteristics, water quality, ecosystem service function and value, stakeholder analysis, plan of engagement with stakeholders and the potential environmental and economic impact of the PES schemes.
There is a Geographic Scope Report for each catchment area. They include assessment of the demographics of the area and presentation to stakeholder groups.
