CPES South Downs Stakeholder Workshop

In October we held a workshop for key stakeholders for the two case studies within the South Downs National Park. The case studies cover the South Downs Groundwater and the Western Rother River, with issues including rising nitrates, pesticides and sediment.

The workshop was attended by 25 stakeholders from a wide range of organisations including farm advisors, environmental charities, river’s trusts, Universities, major estates, water companies and local government organisations.

The workshop focused on introducing the CPES project and an update from the two case studies, the Western Rother and South Downs Groundwater. There were also presentations on the evolving PES tool box and a lively discussion on enablers and blockers that had been found in relation to CPES schemes.
